              Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

              Position is for a full-time summer Graduate Assistantship in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Responsibilities include:

              ? Assist with curriculum development of courses focused on ethics, student development, and leadership;
              ? Assist with improving current student programs and developing new student programs focused on retention initiatives;
              ? Assist with recruitment and marketing initiatives, including summer programs and outreach to high schools and middle schools;
              ? Assist with assessment projects, including survey design, distribution, and analysis;
              ? Respond to undergraduate email account dedicated to general undergraduate program inquiries.

              Minimum Qualifications:

              ? Degree-seeking, enrolled status in a UMCP graduate program, preferably in Student Affairs or Higher Education Administration;
              ? Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

              Preferences:

              ? Experience working with undergraduate students in STEM majors;
              ? Experience in academic/student affairs, student programming, and student development.

              Hours: The 40 hours-per-week work schedule primarily occurs between 8:30-4:30pm M-F; however, some evenings and weekends may be required. Schedule is flexible.
