              Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

              This laboratory assistant position works closely with other laboratory staff to collect blood and urine samples for processing, accessioning tests and complete in-put of data into the Point and Click and/or the Laboratory Information System. This is an essential position in times of public health emergencies related to the campus.

              Minimum Qualifications:

              High School Diploma or GED AND Six months laboratory work experience.


              Work experience in an ambulatory health care facility

              Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

              Must have general knowledge of phlebotomy, infection control and able to operate standard medical equipment. Must have adequate reading and writing skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The person in the position must possess exemplary customer service skills.
