Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The clinic coordinator will be Responsible for maintaining and completing accurate information on each patient assigned by providers to facilitate each patient’s care. This includes but is not limited to vital signs, screening medical questions, EKGs, nebulizer treatments, insurance authorizations and assistant with basic insurance and the third party queries and explaining payments policies, create and maintain paper and electronic patient charts, provide accurate and timely messages to MDs, fulfill HIPAA compliant in going and outgoing medical records requests, manage incoming and outgoing faxes, provide accurate appointment entry/check-in/ check out and and follow-up calls to patients. Maintain proper inventory in all examination rooms. Orders, stocks, and maintains exam rooms and clinic areas with standard levels of supplies, medications, linens, nourishment, forms, and equipment. Recognizes patient care trends affecting unit supplies and notifies clinic manager. Equipment Care – Orders and maintains clinic office/clinical supplies for malfunctioning equipment and general maintenance problems on a regular basis and ensures that equipment is cleaned.Assists with immunizations as assigned and review immunization forms for completeness, and caries out all clerical functions of a unit. Provide administrative support to medical providers and medical staff.Customer service –Offer friendly, courteous, attentive and confidential assistance to every patient and visitor needs and inquiries Ensuring that the patient has a positive experience while at the clinic. Minimum Qualifications: | High School Diploma or GED AND Five years performing a full range of clerical support services to include one year coordination work and one year in a medical setting. Comprehensive knowledge of the theory, principles, techniques and practices of the specialty are required. |
Preferences: | Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant, EMT Basics, or Athletic trainer program. Work experience in an ambulatory health care facility Must have general knowledge of infection control and able to operate standard medical equipment used to take vital signs including vision testing. Able to perform range of medical assisting tasks such as EKG, nebulizer setup, vaccine administration,etc Computer skills in common computer applications, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience applying orthopedic appliances desired. |
