Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work under the medical supervision of the head team physician and is responsible for the day-to-day sports medicine/athletic training operations for assigned sport(s); to include prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes; pre-participation physicals; maintaining medical records; monitoring insurance claims; daily interaction and communication with coaching staff, team physicians, athletic trainers and administration; attending team practices and events; manage functional movement assessments, corrective exercises and injury prevention programming. Collaborate with Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition and Mental Health providers and assist the Director of Athletic Training with other administrative duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications: | Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Athletic Training educational program or related field; |
Preferences: | Master’s degree from an accredited athletic training educational program degree or related field; |
Additional Certifications: | Current National Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers. CPR and AED Certification for healthcare workers by an accredited organization. |

Physical Demands | The scope of the position frequently requires weekend and evening work with team travel (non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing, lifting student-athletes, water coolers, equipment or boxes up to 50 pounds. |
