              Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

              The Assistant Director of Video Production will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Video Services staff, and report to the Assistant Athletics Director, Broadcasting & Production.

              Responsibilities include: Supervise production shoots for the Broadcasting & Production office. Oversee a Production Assistant(s) to assist with departmental needs. Produce, coordinate, and edit when needed, the in-house production of external and internal video content. This will include commercials, web and social videos, highlights, banquet videos, and in-venue content.

              Oversee student assistants, assist in scheduling their hours, and helping them execute the production of the video content plan.

              Responsible for videotaping events and athletic contests for inclusion in video content for a multi-platform distribution model. Participate in conceptualizing and collaborating with departmental units and coaching staffs on compelling video stories to be produced across the athletics department and perform other duties as assigned.

              Minimum Qualifications:

              Bachelor’s degree required in video production, graphic design, or a related field with experience.

              Minimum two (2) years of experience with non-linear editing (Premiere, Final Cut) with an emphasis on video production for social platforms.

              Demonstrated ability in videography and lighting.

              Proficiency with Mac systems and Adobe Creative Suite.

              Ability to produce and create exciting audiovisual mediums.

              Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.


              Preference will be given to those candidates with collegiate or professional sports production experience, and to those with provable experience in 3 and 4D compositing.

              Physical Demands

              The scope of the position frequently requires weekend and evening work (non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 30 pounds (transport of all video equipment, including cameras, tripods, projectors, screens, etc).
