              Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

              Under general supervision of the Housekeeping Services Zone Supervisor in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center (CSPAC), the Team Leader provides leadership necessary to accomplish the Housekeeping Team Cleaning Program responsibilities within approximately 250,000 GSF of campus buildings. Leads/supervises 5 to 10 Housekeepers, and performs a variety of Housekeeping utility tasks in CSPAC.

              Minimum Qualifications:

              Four years in housekeeping in a lead or supervisory capacity.


              HS diploma or GED strongly desired.

              Additional Certifications:

              All new hires are required to possess and maintain a class C driver’s license valid in the State of Maryland with less than 6 points.

              Physical Demands

              -The employee must have the ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; stand, walk and climb steps continuously; wear and work with the use of personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles, etc.) and to work in and around allergens such as dust and chalk. Must be able to operate all custodial equipment and train others in their safe operation.

              -Work hours are 11:30am – 8pm, Wednesday – Friday and 6am – 2:30pm Saturday & Sunday. May be reassigned to work in different work zones throughout campus based on operational needs. Must be willing and able to change work zones. This position is considered that of an Essential employee, subject to a 24-hour day, seven-day week span of operation. The incumbent is required to come to work during emergencies and when the campus may be closed due to inclement weather. Will be required to perform snow removal assistance when necessary.
