Position Summary/Purpose of Position: | Under general supervision, provides support to the campus in all aspects of the maintenance, repair, and renovation of structural systems. As assigned, functions in an on-site lead capacity over small crews, to assist with building maintenance and renovation work at multiple sites throughout campus including demolition and construction of ceilings, walls, and partitions; and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. Performs miscellaneous demolition and site clearance including removal of debris. Completes both renovation and maintenance structural work tasks. |
Minimum Qualifications: | Five years progressively responsible experience in the trade(s) where assigned to include at least two years in a lead or supervisory capacity. |
Preferences: | High school diploma or GED. ADDITIONAL REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: |
Additional Certifications: | Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than six points. |

Physical Demands | Incumbent will work a 4-day/10-hour shift (either M/TH or T/FRI). Shift assignment is subject to change. Must be willing/able to work a flexible shift and be available in times of emergency – position is Essential-Catastrophic and subject to a 24-hour day, 7-day week span of operation. Must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from ladders and scaffolding up to 35 feet; to manipulate heavy equipment/tools; to work in hazardous or irritating environments; and to wear and work in personal protective equipment (including safety footwear provided by the University). Must be able to lift or exert force up to 70lbs. |
